In 2020, renewable electricity generation added importante gains to the national economy: (i) saving approximately €66 million in imports of fossil fuels (natural gas, coal, fuel oil and diesel), (ii) saving €427 million in C02 emission allowances and (iii) avoiding the emission of 17 million tons of C02-eq.
