About APREN

APREN - Portuguese Renewable Energy Association is a non-profit association, founded in October of 1988 with the mission of coordinating, representing and defending the common interests of its Members in the promotion of renewable energies. APREN’s Members are companies holding power plants for electricity generation from renewable sources under special regime, as well as any individual or collective person interested in the development of renewable energy sources in Portugal.
In 2024, APREN represented 89% of the renewable installed capacity in Portugal, covering a wide variety of stakeholders in the Members’ portfolio, most of them promoters, followed by service providers and industrial.
